Realizing that the arrow is somehow special, the princess takes it to her quarters and displays it prominently on a small altar. During the night, however, it changes into a male kami and they make love, resulting in the birth of a child. This is Wake Ikazuchi, the principal deity of Kamigamo Shrine.
