Most Shinto shrines have similarly dramatic origin myths, which may or may not be rendered for public consumption. Here, the red arrow appears on one of Kamigamo Shrine's votive tablets (ema). Interestingly, there is no accompanying explanation as to the meaning of the arrow, nor are there any publically displayed signs that detail the origin myth.
